Just Let Go
04:30
|
|||
Never a question of missed opportunities
I know that I should be letting you do this to me
Just let go
Can’t choose the time and you can’t choose the distances
Rounding the bend of familiar instances
Just let go
So I sit upon the wall
And I hear you when you call
Never been so hard
She is on her guard
Let go
Try to explain to yourself why you feel like this
You know the bow and the arrow can always miss
Just let go
This time there’s no way of hiding the way you feel
Ring out the bells, let them ring out and then appeal
Just let go
So I sit upon the wall
And I hear you when you call
Never been so hard
She is on her guard
Let go
Try so hard to just let go
Try so hard to just let go
Never a question of missed opportunities
I know that you know that I should be doing this
Just let go

Heading West
04:09
|
|||
Nothing we had gets taken away
Might learn the value of it some day
Everything left gets in the way
Obstructs and disrupts and then leads us astray
It’s simple, or should be, now
Happy the unspoken vow
Wind blow me, I know we’ve done our best
Follow the road, follow, dispossessed
Leave all we had, time for something new
Each town we meet, keep on passing through
And each time you reach home, or feel distressed
Think of me heading west
Why not leave now, deep in July?
August flies quickly, watch it glide by
Pick up your bag, don’t close the door
I’m right behind you, if not before
It’s over, or should be, now,
We’ve gone through why, gone through how
You know me, I know we’ve done our best
Follow the road feeling truly blessed
Turn off the path, dim the lights, explore
Cast off, set sail, then get washed ashore
With each step get closer, then finally rest
Think of me heading west

Herne & The Red Kite
04:00
|
|||
Herne lived alone, lived alone in a wood
Staring at swallows, wishing he could
Join their migration from flower to flower
Finally deciding to rest on some bower
With another
With another
Herne lifts his head and the Red Kite goes drifting by
Suddenly in love with something that caught her eye
Something that’s shining so bright in the sunlight
Let’s hope we never lose that thing that shines in the sunlight ever again
Only one Herne and not enough wood
Climbed up the bower and atop it he stood
Called down the Red Kite from high up above
Come land down here and be my love
Forever
Forever
Red Kite flies down (he’s waited his life for this)
Whispers to Herne something, whispers, and then a kiss
Something that’s shining so bright in the sunlight
Let’s hope we never lose that thing that shines in the sunlight ever again
Herne and the Red Kite (repeat)…

But For Me
04:21
|
|||
There are times when "how long"
Is like howl and so long
To the times you knew before
Never mind the wherefores and the whys don't care for little hairs that we split anymore
You and I don't know the reason why we fell apart
Never really find the reason why
Could it be that really there was distance in between?
Miles from heart to heart
No man's a island but for me
Your voice a shore across the sea
I hear it now so distantly
And will eternally
Know your worth and hold her
To your breast and shoulder
All the weight you knew before
In time it'll bid you a fond kiss
And you'll find that what you miss
Is now easy to ignore
You and I don't know the reason why we fell apart
Never really find the reason why
Could it be our lives are islands, separate and vast?
Miles from heart to heart
No man's a island but for me
Your voice a shore across the sea
I hear it now so distantly
And will eternally
There's nowhere left for me to hide
An island with a heart inside
Breaking
Repeat the words "my love we tried"
Above the tears already cried
Aching
No man's a island but for me
Your voice a shore across the sea
I hear it now so distantly
And will eternally
will eternally
will eternally

On Constellation Street
04:27
|
|||
Time heads off, and leaves us two alone
Makes his way along the path, beyond the old headstones
Looks back at us and smiles a bit, he knows his work is done
By taking all he has with him, and leaving us with none
Meet me here on Constellation Street
Birds fly past and watch us as they weep
Love on the wing is selfless and deep
As we stay down here on Constellation Street
Don’t need him, we’ll make it for ourselves
With love we’ll stop the ticking clocks, the seconds grow and swell
If you and I can truly be together now as one
I’ll do his job for nothing till I’m older than the sun
Meet me here on Constellation Street
Stars come out and sing with each heartbeat
Time cannot stop me feeling complete
We stay down here on Constellation Street
Snow falls down and robs us again
Of precious moments like now
Time returns and melts the ice
And points us to The Plough
Meet me here on Constellation Street
You’ve come far on tired, worn-out feet
Rest them now, don’t be discreet
As we stay down here on Constellation Street
